Inside the Kitchen: Kesos Taco House

Located in downtown Austin, Kesos Taco House is known for their delicious Mexican food and their wide assortment of tacos topped with their famous queso.

The Restaurant

Jhonatan Aldama started Kesos Taco House after dreaming of starting his own business. After a lot of brainstorming through college about what his restaurant would offer, Jhonatan decided to blend the Mexican food items he loves the most – tacos and queso. With a bright interior and friendly staff, Kesos is the perfect spot to take your friends and family to enjoy tacos. The staff go above and beyond to make you feel welcomed. The staff get to know their customers and the extra effort really shows through in their customer service. No matter how great the experience is, the star of the show will always be the food, and that’s what makes it the go-to spot in Austin. Customers can’t just have one, they’re hooked after the first bite!

The Food

The food at Kesos Taco House is inspired by the flavours of Mexico. The owner grew up in a Hispanic home so the memories of home cooked chorizo, carnitas, al pastor, and fajita are all things he wanted to incorporate into the menu. While they offer a delicious range of tacos and nachos, their famous staple is their queso which takes the tacos to a whole new level and adds a flavour you can’t get anywhere else. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and that’s why Kesos offers a number of signature breakfast tacos like the “Rise and Shine” taco with homemade chorizo, bacon, pork carnitas, jalapeños, eggs, refried beans, and queso on a corn tortilla. If you’re there for lunch, check out the “Keep It Weird” taco with pork carnitas, roasted potatoes, pico de gallo, and topped with queso. They also offer local craft beers and margaritas that pair beautifully with a nice taco.
