August is coming to a close, but there’s still plenty of time to celebrate the last shred of summer. Bust out your baskets, blankets and best lunch spreads, because there’s nothing quite like a picnic in the park. Here are ten picture perfect picnic ideas that you’ll want to put on Instagram.

CheeseBoard with jams, honey, figs

If you haven’t prepared at least three types of cheese for your picture-perfect picnic, did it ever really happen? Load up on sweet spreads, such as blackberry and fig jam, and have yourself an amazing afternoon. Throw in some cured meats and you’ve got yourself a charcuterie.

Almond Chocolate Chip Zucchini Bread

Banana bread is so yesteryear, especially when you’re trying to impress your peers on Instagram with picnic ideas. Toss those mouldy bananas in the trash and take up some zucchini: 2017’s ingredient of choice. @loveandlemons has a first-rate recipe if you’re looking to try something new.

Vegetable Tart

Your friends won’t know what to do when they see this one! One part pie, another part vegetable platter, this tart is sure to kickstart any picnic. Feel free to experiment with whatever veggies you see fit, but we recommend using a fresh combo of cherry tomatoes, broccoli and red pepper.

Barbecue may not be the first thing you think of when someone says “picnic in the park,” but all it takes is one good grill to get the party going. Make sure to bring along some sides, such as macaroni, brussels sprouts can cole slaw.

Raspberry Polenta Arugula Salad

If you’re in need of some salad inspo, look no further than @heartbeetkitchen. Her Raspberry Polenta Arugula Salad is a stunning invention and will most certainly have you standing out.

Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins

Go back to the garbage, reach in, and remove those bananas from before. Why waste good grub when you can use them in some yummy muffins? These grab-and-go snacks look great on camera and taste even better when you’re picnicking in the park.

Rainbow Coconut Water Spritzers

Rainbows may be beautiful, but you need at least a little rain for them to appear. We’d much rather sit out in the sun, enjoying those colours in our glass. Spritzers go great with all kinds of appetizers, so grab yourself some snacks, and cool off with this delicious drink.

Grilled Halloumi Salad

Sometimes you just gotta go with your gut and keep it simple, stupid. Trying to incorporate too much is a great recipe for disaster. For something straightforward, try this Halloumi Salad.

Cold Brew Coffee Cream Pops

Put a popsicle on Instagram, We dare you. You won’t know what to do with yourself once all those internet points roll in. @ohladycakes has some amazing stuff posted on her blog, and we can’t get enough. These Cold Brew Cream Pops may be our favourite.

As much as we may love spritzer, you can’t beat a cool, crisp glass of Rosé, Better bring a couple bottles, because this stuff will run out quick!

Hopefully we’ve got you thinking about how you’ll be spending the end of summer. If you’re in need of any tips on how to properly take a photo of your food, check out our blog post.
